Back in October 2024, Hyvä announced its plan to add to its line of products. Hyvä Commerce went public.
Hyvä made it clear that the Magento ecosystem needed a shake-up and if I’m being honest, it fully did. Since acquiring Magento, Adobe has been slow to release features, performance improvements, and any real value behind Magento Open Source. Adobe’s main focus with the application is creating a better platform for its bigger sibling, Adobe Commerce.
It gives me great pleasure writing this blog as I’m excited to see so much coming from Hyvä in the past five years and I’m completely in love with the products.
Hyvä Commerce, in their words, “is the next step into making merchants’ lives easier, maximising the power and scalability of the Magento Open Source platform while further reducing complexity for their eCommerce teams. The new product suite will include features such as a modern admin panel, enhanced CMS capabilities, and much more.”
Before we delve deeper into what’s coming in Hyvä Commerce and the roadmap, I want to give you a brief history of the product offering currently available from Hyvä and how it supports Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source.
A Hyvä History
Hyvä Themes – The first product released by Hyvä. This is a front-end theme that replaces the native Magento Luma theme. Hyvä Themes comes complete with Hyvä UI which is explained in more detail below.
This product took the Magento ecosystem by storm and I firmly believe that this was the wake-up call Adobe needed. Adobe introduced PWA Storefront which was a headless frontend technology for Adobe Commerce. This, to be frank, was a bit of a failure as it didn’t work with some of Adobe’s features, most notably Adobe Sensei Product Recommendations. Adobe quietly admitted defeat and stopped supporting PWA. Edge Delivery Service was introduced and is a composable set of services for Adobe Commerce and is now being used in Adobe Commerce SaaS.
An example of Hyvä Theme being used is our client, Stoves Are Us. They have seen an increased conversion rate and very positive SEO results.
Hyvä has not slowed down with the development of this theme and there is so much to use out of the box now.
Hyvä UI – Hyvä UI is a library of prebuilt components that comes free with Hyvä Theme and Hyvä Enterprise. These libraries make it easier for developers to customise designs and give the merchant multiple choices in design. As an example, the UI library comes with multiple headers, footers and menu options saving so much time and cost for the merchant.
As well as Hyvä Theme, Hyvä has released many versions since its launch and the library keeps on growing and growing.
Fluid Commerce has built many UI components of our own and we’re looking to release some of these to Hyvä so that they can add to this library. After all, Hyvä is built out of a community and we want to keep supporting this.

Hyvä Checkout – In June 2023, Hyvä released Hyvä Checkout to replace Magento’s native Luma checkout. Hyvä Checkout has revolutionised the checkout process for merchant customers and provided a streamlined checkout process that is fully customisable for developers.
It’s now been integrated with all Adobe Commerce B2B features as well as being adopted by many payment providers. It’s fast, frictionless and can be used as a one-step or multi-step checkout which is great for A/B tests.
Stoves Are Us also utilises Hyvä Checkout.
Hyvä Enterprise – August 2023 saw the release of Hyvä Enterprise. This version supports all Adobe Commerce features such as B2B, Sensei Product Recommendations and Live Search.
The roadmap for this product was hit at a blistering pace and is still being fully supported as and when Adobe releases new features to Adobe Commerce. The other great part of this is Hyvä Enterprise works alongside Adobe’s Edge Delivery Service platform which makes it a powerful performer in the speed and optimisation world.
Our client, Pearson Hydraulics utilises Hyvä Enterprise and the majority of its features.
Ok… So what is coming in Hyvä Commerce?
The exciting part. During Hyvä Developer Paradise a few weeks back in March 2025, the team at Hyvä took to the stage to introduce Hyvä Commerce and the roadmap of what’s to come.
As I’ve mentioned above, Adobe has not really done much with Magento Open Source over the past 4 to 5 years and it’s been lacking in any sort of buzz. If anything, it felt like the ecosystem was slightly shrinking. Quite rightly, Adobe’s focus has been around their Adobe Experience Manager platforms so it was inevitable that Magento Open Source took the hit. After all, it’s a free e-commerce open-source platform.
So to quote Hyvä… “Hyvä Commerce offers the best version of Magento the world has ever seen”
I completely agree.
Out of the box comes the following;
An e-commerce platform built on Magento that comes with Hyvä Theme & Hyvä Checkout. It will contain a complete admin refresh to streamline and enhance the admin experience. Long overdue!
It will include a complete redesign of “Pagebuilder” labelled as Hyvä CMS. This feature looks incredible and has a live view feature allowing merchants to see changes instantly without the need to save and view all device versions.
Hyvä CMS will also contain an Image Editor that allows customers to edit images on the fly. No need for third-party software which reduces cost for the end user. Please see the video below for a dome of Hyvä CMS.
Hyvä is also releasing a Media Optimisation feature that will boost your storefront performance. It will make sure that all images are optimised at the output so that Google Pagespeed Insights scores are better managed. There’s no point in having a fast-performing website when a merchant forgets to resize or upload large media.

What is the impact for a merchant who is looking at Hyvä Commerce?
Coming from the merchant side, I’ve always asked the above question when thinking about adopting new technology.
It completely depends on what your goals and priorities are at the present moment.
- You may be looking to move from another platform to Magento or Adobe Commerce.
- You may be looking to move from Adobe Commerce to Magento Open Source to reduce costs

Hyvä have said that you can trade these licenses in for a Hyvä Commerce license.
- Will Hyvä Commerce work with Adobe Commerce?
Yes. Hyvä Commerce will directly sit on top of Adobe Commerce. However, if you need some of the Adobe Commerce features, you must purchase Hyvä Enterprise.
